Dentistry is something that I am passionate about—having good dental health can significantly improve quality of life, especially for children. Working with so many different individuals each day has taught so much about patience and treating the individual, not just the teeth. I feel when I can help make dentistry as easy and enjoyable as possible, it makes a big difference in the lives of not only the patients, but also their families. It is exciting to see that we have so many patients who love to come to the dentist!

Every child is unique, and I love being able to provide individualized care based on their different personalities and needs. Working with kids every day definitely means each day is interesting, fun, and different!

Education and Continuing Education

I was born and raised on the Gulf Coast in D'Iberville, Mississippi. In high school, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry because of the positive experience I had with my own pediatric dentist. I attended Delta State University with that goal in mind and even worked during the summer after my junior year for a pediatric dentist. After completing my undergraduate degree, I attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. I attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry/Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children for my pediatric dental residency and received my certificate in 2012.

I try to stay abreast of current, evidence-based care guidelines and recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Many of the continuing education credits I receive are hosted by the AAPD or regional pediatric dental groups which ensures the education I receive is centered around pediatric dental care.

I am a board certified Diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, Mobile District Dental Society, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside the Office

I have been married to my husband Derek since 2009.  He is the school resource officer at Spanish Fort Middle School. We have two boys, Connor and Cullen, who are the light of our lives and keep us on our toes. We are expecting our third boy, Canaan, in August. We also have two dogs and three cats!

As a family, we love to travel and all things Disney. I also enjoy yoga and crossfit. Most of our free time is spent hanging out with our kids and bringing them to after school activities like baseball and karate! We also are very involved in our church, Coastal Church in Daphne, and serve on the guest services team.

Being active in the community is important, and I am passionate about giving back to the community in which I work. I volunteer with Jensen’s Heart of Gold, a non-profit organization started by my dear friend, Melissa Byrd, after she lost her son to childhood cancer. I also volunteer to provide dental screenings in the Baldwin County Schools. As an office we try to support causes that benefit children and their families such as the St. Jude's Walk and Prodisee Pantry.
